Armed men raid farmhouse in Malir, loot cash and valuables

More than 15 armed men allegedly raided a farmhouse in Malir’s Murad Memon Goth area, held staff and family members hostage and looted cash and valuables. A case has been registered at Sachal police station on the complaint of Abdul Rehman.

KARACHI: More than 15 armed men raided a farmhouse in the Murad Memon Goth area of Sachal in Malir district and took cash and valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees after holding the manager and his family hostage, according to a police case.

Details in the case state that the suspects entered the farmhouse by breaking the gate. They then held guards, staff members and family members at gunpoint and allegedly tried to seize control of the property. The attackers also threatened the victims with serious consequences during the incident.

A first information report has been registered at Sachal police station on the complaint of Abdul Rehman, a resident of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 7.

In his statement, Abdul Rehman said the armed men blindfolded members of the staff, forced them into a vehicle and drove them through different areas before later releasing them while issuing threats.

The FIR further states that the suspects took around Rs500,000 in cash along with other valuables from the farmhouse.

According to the complaint, some of the assailants remained inside the premises during the episode and even used mobile phones to take photographs of themselves.

The case also says the attackers resorted to aerial firing during the raid.

Police case registered

The incident was formally recorded at Sachal police station after the complaint was lodged by Abdul Rehman. The contents of the FIR describe a coordinated raid involving a large group of armed men, the confinement of those present at the farmhouse, and the removal of cash and valuables.

The complaint identifies the location as a farmhouse in Murad Memon Goth in the Sachal area of Malir district. It alleges that the armed group not only looted the property but also attempted to assert control over the premises while keeping the occupants under threat.

The registered case also includes the allegation that the staff were blindfolded and transported in a vehicle before being released. It further records that aerial firing took place during the incident.
