QUETTA: Security forces have killed more than nine terrorists in intelligence-based operations (IBO) in Balochistan, state media reported on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The operations were conducted in Ziarat, Harnai and Surab under Operation Rad-ul-Fitna 3, according to Pakistan TV<\/em>, which said that arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the security forces after the operation, according to a statement issued by his ministry on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe interior minister commended the professional capabilities of the security forces for sending more than nine terrorists of Fitna-al-Hindustan<\/em> to hell,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The statement further quoted Naqvi as saying that operations against Fitna-al-Hindustan<\/em> and Fitna-al-Khawarij<\/em> were under way with full force and will continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tuesday\u2019s operations are the latest in a string of actions being taken as Balochistan continues to grapple with security challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The state uses the term\u00a0Fitna-al-Khawarij<\/em>\u00a0for the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and has\u00a0designated\u00a0Balochistan-based groups as\u00a0Fitna-al-Hindustan<\/em>\u00a0to\u00a0highlight\u00a0India\u2019s alleged role in terrorism and destabilisation across Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On Monday, two terrorists were\u00a0killed\u00a0and three others were injured in an IBO in the Killi Zaik area of Balochistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It came a day after security forces\u00a0killed\u00a0seven terrorists during an IBO in Kharan\u2019s Lajay area under.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On Saturday, security forces had killed 10 terrorists and injured many others in an IBO in the Shor Pard area of Balochistan\u2019s Khuzdar district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That followed the killing of at least\u00a018 terrorists\u00a0in Balochistan\u2019s Surab district, including eight in a premature detonation, according to the military\u2019s media affairs wing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies\u2019 (PICSS) monthly security\u00a0assessment\u00a0released on July 31, the security situation deteriorated most significantly in Balochistan in the country last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The overall death toll increased by 241pc in Balochistan, from 109 in June to 372 in July, the report said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Security personnel deaths in Balochistan increased from six in June to 62 in July, representing a rise of 933pc. Terrorist deaths rose from 75 to 238, while civilian deaths increased by 93pc, from 28 to 54.
