{"id":7873,"date":"2026-08-18T12:23:27","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T12:23:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakistanaffairs.com.pk\/?p=7873"},"modified":"2026-08-18T12:23:28","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T12:23:28","slug":"imran-khans-sister-noreen-niazi-allowed-to-meet-him-at-rawalpindis-adiala-jail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistanaffairs.com.pk\/index.php\/2026\/08\/18\/imran-khans-sister-noreen-niazi-allowed-to-meet-him-at-rawalpindis-adiala-jail\/","title":{"rendered":"Imran Khan&#8217;s sister Noreen Niazi allowed to meet him at Rawalpindi&#8217;s Adiala Jail"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">RAWALPINDI: Incarcerated ex-prime minister Imran Khan\u2019s sister, Noreen Niazi, was allowed entry into Rawalpindi\u2019s Adiala jail on Tuesday after the Supreme Court ruled that the PTI founder be allowed weekly meetings with his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Imran \u2014\u00a0imprisoned\u00a0since Aug 5, 2023, for\u00a0concealing\u00a0details of Toshakhana gifts \u2014 is serving a\u00a014-year\u00a0sentence at Rawalpindi\u2019s Adiala jail in a \u00a3190 million corruption case, also known as the\u00a0Al-Qadir Trust case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite an order by the Islamabad High Court (IHC)\u00a0allowing\u00a0the incarcerated ex-premier to have twice-a-week meetings \u2014 on Tuesdays and Thursdays \u2014 with his family, lawyers and other associates, Imran has been restricted from meeting visitors for several months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Tuesday, however, Noreen Niazi was allowed entry into the jail to meet with Imran after all three of the sisters were stopped at Dahgal Naka, a security checkpoint and road intersection located on Adiala Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only Noreen was sent by police to Adiala jail\u2019s Gate no. 5, while Imran\u2019s other sisters Aleema Khanum and Dr Uzma Khanum were not allowed to proceed beyond the checkpoint.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RAWALPINDI: Incarcerated ex-prime minister Imran Khan\u2019s sister, Noreen Niazi, was allowed entry into Rawalpindi\u2019s Adiala jail on Tuesday after the Supreme Court ruled that the PTI founder be allowed weekly meetings with his family.
