{"id":7799,"date":"2026-08-01T12:18:03","date_gmt":"2026-08-01T12:18:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakistanaffairs.com.pk\/?p=7799"},"modified":"2026-08-01T12:18:04","modified_gmt":"2026-08-01T12:18:04","slug":"parts-of-karachi-receive-light-showers-more-rain-expected","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistanaffairs.com.pk\/index.php\/2026\/08\/01\/parts-of-karachi-receive-light-showers-more-rain-expected\/","title":{"rendered":"Parts of Karachi receive light showers; more rain expected"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">KARACHI: Parts of Karachi received light rain on Saturday, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicting more showers till Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Light rain was reported in Gulshan-i-Maymar, Gulshan-i-Hadeed, Super Highway and nearby areas,&nbsp;<em>DawnNewsTV<\/em>&nbsp;reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, the PMD has predicted light to moderate rain with dust and thunderstorm in Karachi from today till August 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the forecast, a westerly wave, affecting the northern areas, is likely to strengthen and affect upper and central parts of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under the influence of the system, moderate rainfall with dust and thunderstorms is likely in Karachi from Saturday (today) till Monday with occasional gaps, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It also forecast moderate to heavy rainfall in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Sanghar, Khairpur, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Hyderabad, Matiari and Shaheed Benazirabad districts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The department also forecast rainfall with dust and thunderstorm in Ghotki, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Sukkur, Qambar Shahdadkot, Larkana, Naushahro Feroze, Thatta and Jamshoro districts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Saturday, the department said that the maximum temperature was expected to range between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius in the port city.
