Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Tahir Andrabi on Wednesday rejected India\u2019s \u201cpreposterous statement\u201d regarding Pakistan\u2019s\u00a0recent strikes\u00a0against terrorists and their hideouts along the Afghan border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a post on X, the FO spokesperson said Pakistan rejected the \u201cbaseless statement\u201d by India on its \u201clegitimate, targeted and proportionate actions\u201d against terrorist infrastructure in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis preposterous statement has been made by a country that has historically interfered in and undermined the sovereignty and territorial integrity of its neighbouring countries, in contravention of the UN Charter, and continues to suppress the right to self-determination of the Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, in violation of the relevant UN resolutions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIndia has also been actively aiding and sponsoring terrorist groups operating from Afghan soil against Pakistan, in violation of the relevant UN Security Council sanctions regime, and continues to play the role of a regional spoiler,\u201d he said, adding that its \u201cbaseless accusations and inflammatory statements against Pakistan must not be entertained\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPakistan has been and will continue to take all appropriate measures to uphold the safety and security of its citizens in accordance with international law,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Sunday night, Pakistan\u2019s security forces had carried out an intelligence-based ground operation along the Pakistan-Afghan border, followed by calibrated strikes against terrorist hideouts and safe havens, killing 25 terrorists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The development had come after\u00a0terrorists had attacked a local headquarter\u00a0of the Pakistan Rangers Sindh in Karachi\u2019s Gulistan-i-Jauhar area, during which three security personnel were martyred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs had subsequently condemned Pakistan\u2019s actions. It had called them a \u201cblatant act of aggression\u201d and a \u201cdirect threat\u201d to regional peace and stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Islamabad has\u00a0repeatedly urged\u00a0the Taliban administration in Kabul to dismantle terrorist sanctuaries on Afghan soil that are used for attacks in Pakistan. Officials say those appeals have gone unheeded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
