RAWALPINDI: Three candidates were booked during the First Annual Intermediate Examinations after two were found using unfair means and another was caught allegedly appearing in place of a different candidate, according to Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Controller of Examinations Tanveer Asghar Awan said the cases came to light during inspections of multiple examination centres on Wednesday. He said two candidates were caught while using unfair means at the Government Higher Secondary School examination centre in Jalalpur Sharif, in Tehsil Pind Dadan Khan of Jhelum district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a separate incident, an impersonator was apprehended at the Government Islamia High School No 4 examination centre on Liaquat Ali Road in Rawalpindi while attempting to take an examination on behalf of another candidate, Awan said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the controller of examinations, disciplinary proceedings were initiated against all three individuals and their cases were immediately sent to the board’s Discipline Branch for action under examination rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The examination authorities said strict arrangements remain in place to keep the ongoing intermediate examinations transparent, orderly and free of malpractice. The measures are being implemented under what officials described as a zero-tolerance approach to cheating and other irregularities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officials said monitoring of examination centres is continuing under the supervision of the Rawalpindi commissioner, who also serves as chairman of BISE Rawalpindi. The board said the arrangements are aimed at protecting the credibility of the examination process during the First Annual Intermediate Examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
