KARACHI:<\/strong> A major fire that broke out at a factory in the Landhi Export Processing Zone on Sunday afternoon was brought under control after a six-hour operation, according to officials. No casualties were reported in the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rescue-1122 spokesperson Hassaan Ul Haseeb Khan said the blaze started on the ground floor at around 2pm and rapidly spread upward to the third floor of the building. He said firefighting teams worked for hours to contain the flames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the Rescue-1122 spokesperson, around 12 fire tenders and two snorkels were deployed in the operation. The fire was controlled at about 8pm, while cooling work continued until late at night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Khan said the exact cause of the fire was still being determined. He added that the first and second floors of the factory building were badly damaged in the blaze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Officials said the factory was shut at the time of the incident because of the weekly holiday.
