LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution on Thursday, which called for awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir for their efforts for peace amid the war in the Middle East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The resolution, a copy of which is available with Dawn<\/em>, commended Pakistan\u2019s political and military leadership for what it described as a \u201chighly effective diplomatic role\u201d in promoting a ceasefire between the US and Iran, and fostering peace amid a tense international situation<\/p>\n\n\n\n The resolution paid tribute to key figures, including PML-N\u2019s Nawaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, PM Shehbaz, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and CDF Munir. It expressed \u201cdeep appreciation and pride\u201d over their leadership in navigating complex global challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the resolution, their \u201cunwavering leadership, exceptional foresight, and tireless efforts\u201d elevated Pakistan\u2019s standing in the international community.
