LAHORE: Police investigating the deaths of a woman and her three children in Valencia Town have traced the suspected poisonous substance to a parcel delivery and expanded the inquiry to include a former college classmate of the deceased.

A murder case has been registered under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code, while investigators pursue several leads and await forensic findings to establish the exact cause of death. Police believe the inquiry is moving on multiple fronts.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the deceased, Aleena, had allegedly arranged the suspected poison through an acquaintance. Instead of being sent to her home, the parcel was reportedly delivered to the Johar Town residence of a former classmate, who allegedly passed it on to her.

Police said the woman, who had reportedly studied with Aleena in 2005, has been included in the investigation. Raids are also under way to arrest the person suspected of supplying the poisonous substance, while investigators search for the individual believed to have dispatched the parcel.
