Two separate violent incidents in Islamabad have left a woman dead and an abducted youth killed. Police have registered cases in both matters, but no arrests have been made so far.
ISLAMABAD: Two separate violent incidents in the federal capital have raised concern after a woman was allegedly killed by her husband with the help of his alleged girlfriend, while a young man abducted at gunpoint from the Kohsar police limits was later found murdered in Mardan, according to police sources and complainants.
In the first case, police registered a murder case on the complaint of Shahn Azhar, a resident of Rahim Yar Khan, who told investigators that his sister Natasha Azhar had married Sultan Ali five years ago and the couple had two children.
According to the complainant, the family later shifted to Sector G-12 in Islamabad, where Sultan Ali allegedly became involved with other women and subjected his wife to severe domestic abuse. Shahn Azhar stated that at one stage, the husband allegedly forced Natasha and her children out of the house, after which she returned to her parents.
He further alleged that Sultan Ali later brought his wife and children back to Islamabad, but the violence continued. The complainant accused him of poisoning Natasha in connivance with his alleged girlfriend. Police have registered the case, but no arrests had been made so far, according to the report.
Abducted youth later found dead
In a separate incident, Ghulam Qadir approached Kohsar police and reported that his son, Farukh Afzal, had been abducted by five armed men from Sector F-6/1.
According to the complaint, the assailants were armed and opened fire when family members tried to stop them from taking the young man away. An FIR was registered by police after the incident.
Despite what the report described as timely information provided by the victim’s father, police were unable to recover the abducted youth. Family sources later confirmed that Farukh Afzal had been killed in Mardan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Relatives, accompanied by police officials, left for Mardan to receive the body, the report said.
No arrests have been made in either of the two cases so far.
The two incidents, both reported from Islamabad, involve allegations of serious violence including domestic abuse, abduction and murder. Police have registered cases, while investigations are under way.
