PUNJAB: The Secretary Housing South Punjab directed officials on Wednesday to launch a comprehensive awareness campaign to prevent the spread of dengue larvae.

The secretary told dengue surveillance that arrangements on a war footing were required to control dengue larvae in the district.

He also directed officials to launch a public awareness campaign for preventive measures by displaying streamers in parks, housing societies, and other public places while suggesting that pamphlets be distributed in all government and private offices.

“Dengue cases were decreasing with each passing day as a result of the strict control maintained thus far, and the strategy was ordered to be continued,” he added.

Besides, the secretary advised dengue larvae surveillance teams to monitor every nook of the district, emphasizing that no irregularity would be tolerated in this regard.
